Read in the name of your Lord who created you, Surah Al-Alaq-1.

The Great Book Al-Quran first revealed this verse, where Allah commands humans to read or acquire knowledge. Among all the books or scriptures on earth for gaining knowledge, the Great Book Al-Quran is the only one that is completely pure and beyond any doubt. Therefore, Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah, "This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah," Surah Al-Baqarah-2. Hence, whatever Allah has mentioned in the Great Book Al-Quran is true. Allah revealed the Quran to guide humanity on the right path. That is, all the principles for every action a person undertakes in life are given in the Quran. For example, it includes the correct methods or principles for personal life, family life, social life, economic life, and all other matters. If a person desires everything in their life to be correct, they must complete their tasks according to the ways and methods shown by the Quran. The key to success in both this world and the hereafter is following the Quran and Sunnah. For instance, since Allah is the creator of humans, He knows best about all their affairs, what food is suitable for their stomach, what is beneficial for their body, and what is harmful. Thus, Allah has declared some foods halal (permissible) and some haram (forbidden). That is, Allah knows which food is beneficial for the body and thus made it halal, and what is harmful and thus made it haram. In this way, everything beneficial for a person throughout their life is prescribed, and whatever is harmful is prohibited. Therefore, if a person does not know the entire Quran, understand what Allah has prescribed and prohibited for them, they cannot perform the necessary actions and avoid the harmful ones. As a result, various calamities will befall them in life. In no way can they succeed in this world and the hereafter. Hence, acquiring knowledge of the Great Book Al-Quran is an obligatory duty for every person.
